No matter how discouraged you might be, remember that ups and downs are a natural part of both our businesses and our lives. As we take on new things, we tend to put ourselves in uncomfortable positions, and it’s only by working through that discomfort that we gain confidence.

Today we’re going to talk about how to build your confidence to take on those tasks and not give up. Find out how in the video below:

When we take on new tasks, most of us compare where we are with where we feel we should be. We think our capabilities should be greater than they are, especially if we’ve had a lot of success in another field.

Many people come into network marketing and direct sales not fully understanding what it takes. It’s a simple business, but not an easy one. It requires some skill sets you may not have previously developed.

I definitely experienced that when I had to start my business online for the first time; that’s why a couple of weeks ago I told you that I’m starting over. It can be incredibly discouraging to start something new, and that’s what I went through when I realized I didn’t have the skill set to do the online work like I thought I did.

In a situation like that, you have two options: you can either look at the situation, throw your hands up in the air and say, “I can’t do this. It’s more than I can handle.” or you can ask yourself, “What do I need in order to do this? What skills and tools do I need to accomplish this?”

When you’re feeling discouraged, get some additional support if you need it. Reach out to your support team, the person who sponsored you or friends and family. Talk to them and get the support you need, so that tomorrow you can get up and take it on again.

As you continue to go after your goals and work through those feelings of discouragement, you’ll not only build your business, you’ll build your character and become a different person as a result. Don’t let your discouragement determine what you’re capable of.

All the best,
Lorna Rasmussen
